Airsoft - Pros, Cons, Long-term mental effects, Any good??

Here ye go, break a leg!

To get this started in an objective & balanced manner here is my two pennorth. For the record I am both and angler and an airsofter.

Pro1
You get to spend lots of time out in the open air
Con1
You get to spend lots of time out in the open air - Irish weather can be fcukin' miserable

Pro2
You get some exercise, probably not a bad idea for lads of my age/shape
Con2
You get some exercise, definitely NOT a good idea for lads of my age/shape

Pro3
You get to buy/play with some very realistic-looking toys, takes you right back to your childhood days reading Battle, Warlord, etc. (for those of you who've never heard of these comics you're obviously MUCH younger than I am)
Con3
These toys have a tendency to empty your wallet faster than fishing tackle

Long-term effects? No PTSD so far, but then I haven't had a 100dB+ grenade go off anywhere near me yet and, more importantly, I still see it as just a game. I do have to ackowledge that shooting the sad b'stards on the other team is very satisfying and a great stress reliever



Keep it going, but be fair, balanced & objective.

Maybe we could arrange an outing, CFI vs. FTI, there are plenty of sites that rent the necessary equipment?

Have played it twice,good craic. Certainly makes you realise just how unfit you are. First time I played it,I stood for a firing squad from a group of young people that I was working with,they quite literally couldn't get enough pellets into their magazines.They enjoyed up until they ran out then it was my turn,great craic.
