3 there,s loads of water like this around
4 why have pike on a carp web site.
I myself an a few lad,s tryed a lake like this a few year,s back it was hell.we ended up leaving the next morning an driving for about 9 hours to get on to another good lake.
The best tip is to go with a good list an long history on the lake.
There,s so many lakes in france it,s just mad.

the reason I posted the link was for those who enjoy fishing old unspoilt waters where the fish have not been counted/named, and this one is also in an area of great natural intrest. there are many such lakes throughout France as you are well aware, just happened to come across this particular one. regarding the pike and other species - only points to a healthy natural balance on such a water. GG.

French Fred is the man to get onto about free fishing in france,You only have to pay about 50 euro for a permit to fish in each district (county).

Niceone Natas, will definitely pick his brains at some stage, as we plan to drive down through France on our way to some spanish waters next year. GG.

French Fred has mainly fished in the north of France but we have another French buddy called Loric who has fished for carp in all over France Caseine,Orient,ect. I'll get them to look on some french forums and they might be able to put a list of good free water together for us

Just buy a permit for the regions you are travelling through, it works out cheaper if you buy a multi card, think you can get up to 5 regions on it, and find the waters yourself, the rivers are by far the best place if you want to find 'undiscoverd' waters - however it is not for the faint hearted, best go in a group of 4 or more so you can travel to the shops (and motorway service stations for free showers!) and the others can watch the gear.
Some of the best fishing is just outside the citys, and the French have there share of sh*t holes so go carefull.
You will also find alot of the public waters do not allow night fishing and you will need a night permit (Carpe de Nuite - I think) for the ones that do.
