i see a lot of questions asked on the site, and think an index page would be kinda handy,if somewon wanted a short discription of somthing they could look it up.like......simmo,s.answer.=simmo,s are......you could type your question word in.and just wait until its answered.im making it more complicated than it really is....kinda like a dictionary for carpin.

Is it a kind of Glossary you're aiming at Mike?

Say for example, someone browsing about for the first time, not knowing too much about carp fishing (or anything at all) and coming across the phrase "pop-up". They could go to this area, find the phrase and read an explanation of what a pop-up is, their uses, maybe a picture even?

I'll give it a crack if you want one. No bother. It'll give me something to do before the Liverpool/Barca match anyway.

No bother. I'll throw up something on the basics of rigs first, just explaining the components and types first. It could really cross over to the article section but it's a big area that takes up some space with many bits that need to be explained.

I'll add in a few other terms etc. in another post explaining most of the anglers kit for those new to the scene explaining what each item or technique is used for.

you could even put a bit on fish care on the bank, with lakes like maynooth with dayticket anglers who are new to carping, if they do manage to hook into a big fish it would be good for some pointers on how to take care of them on the bank. I'm speaking from experiance as i was one of the novices that needed help when the larger carp where stocked in to maynooth Embarassed , they where a bit harder to handle then the 5 & 6lb fish i was used to and it was good to have the lads on hand for some pointers.

I think Natas has an Article in the pipeline on this subject. There are a few articles ready to go, just to dot the i's and cross the t's. Some of the topics which are being raised will be covered in the Articles section in the near future. It's a bad time of the year to be trying to go out and photograph fishing during sessions or anything really outdoors as the weather is so unpredictable. When the fine weather comes again, the articles should be coming thick and fast.

It's of paramount importance that the fish go back to the water in just as good a condition in which they left it. We must take care of them if others are to enjoy them in future.

Just seen it as a Sticky up on top of the Article section. The required kit is there but it might be good to do a photo session anyway on the subject soon.
