| I have been thinking about the way fish of the month has been done on this forum for the last few years and I now think we should have members being able to vote for it each month. Would people like to vote on it or do ye think we should keep it as it is ? I have tried to keep mods and admin of the forum out of fish of the month as I didn't think it would be fair for them to win it but if every member has their say they should be allowed to be entered in to it. What do people think ??? | |

| Half the issue with the comp is the amount of fish being put forward. Summertime is great as there's plenty of piccys flying about but once the colder months come it's a very slow supply line coming in. I think the members should have the vote, it knocks out all 'inside' voting if you pardon the expression, looking after our own etc. If a competition gets 100 votes from the public then no complaining can be done when one capture is deemed better than the others. | |

| i think voting would be a better option, sometimes people may get a fish thats not neccessarily the biggest caught that month but the conditions and circumstances in which it was caught may deserve the prize for the sheer accomplishment itself, just a taught!! | |

| i think it should be a public vote, but i also think that there should be a section where any one who wants to forward a fish can,its a bit unfair to except admin to trawl through all the galleries looking for pictures posted that month, put up a thread for each month and anyone who wants to enter can and at the end of the month a poll can run for a few days to pick that months winner, just my opinion. | |

| yeah good idea, maybe a new section in the gallery dedicated just to fish of the month, that way admins only have to look in the one folder,if you dont post your pic in that folder then its not eligable that month,or something along those lines!!again just a suggestion.........its not like i'll ever get to enter it!!!!lol | |

| yes a public vote i think is better, with it`s own folder as shimkel says as sometimes people have trouble posting photos on treads and posting photos in the gallery is easier. there could be a sticky tread running at the same time also. | |

| Well I guess by the way the voting is going we will have a new way of doing FOTM form 2010 on. Truthfully I'm so so glad it's gone this way it makes everything so much easier for us. Myself and PaulC (sorry Paul) will not go forward for FOTM as that would definitely not be right in my eyes but all the mods on here can now be entered into it. Also if by chance there is a split decision through the voting system the winner will be chosen by my self and PaulC form the people with the highest votes.
By the time this months news letter comes out I'll have a folder in the gallery or a section in the forum where people can put fish up for FOTM from then on. | |

| I think you and paul should kinda be allowed in because after all it will be us that chooses it. It'd be unfair if one of ye did get the best fish. | |

| Why cant yorself and Paul enter a fish? I dont think anyone would have a problem with you guys puting a fish forward for it seen as its going to be a public vote.
Would seem a bit pointless winning it in the same month as, lets say, yourself or Paul pull a 25 plus'er out of Innishcara. |

| I don't know lads but I would feel a bit strange if me or PaulC won a prize off this forum if we got Fish of the year FOTY is getting bigger , There are more prizes up for grabs this year compared to last year and I expect even more by the end of the year. So it just wouldn't seem right, I don't mind if Paul goes through but I won't no way | |
