| Has anyone been watching The Pacific ?? If so does anyone think its getting boring ? Maybe its just me but Im a little disappointed with it at this stage , because its the same producers who produced Band of Brothers and it doesnt seem half as good . Does anyone else think its lost its "sting "?? Just wondering . |

| I have only seen the first 2 episodes so judging from them it is no Band of Brothers but it still seemed ok to me. | |

| As a HUGE fan of Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers I eagerly anticipated The Pacific. Unfortunately it's not what I was hoping for and I don't think I will even watch all the episodes. I can see what they are trying to do, rather than look at the horrific impact war has on the human body & how it nurtures the bond between fighting men it is trying to portray the unseen long-term effect war has on the human psyche, and that just doesn't work for me. In SPR/BoB we could see the physical effects all too clearly, but they also gave a great insight into the psychological effects too, in BoB this was done by making the interviews with the real characters an integral part of the series. If I'm being honest the casting of one character is also a big problem, when I look at Eugene all I can see is the kid from Jurassic Park. Saving Private Ryan: 10/10 Band of Brothers: 11/10 Pacific Score: 3/10 | |
