Yes there was some interesting points and I have to agree the reels Vin was told to buy are the best on the market, I have them for the last 15 or so years and can't fault them.
I have lost count of the amount of topics/posts I have had to edit on here over the years and I guess I'm sick to death of doing it, delete now seems to be the better option.

Just wanted to make sure if I am going to bother my arse posting anything substantial that it wont be torn down due to a few harmless rogue jibes. Of course I understand it must be a pain in the arse watching everything but as long as heads are not about to start issuing Fatwas on each other then let it ride. If they do act in threatening behavior then ban them straight off. I dont think anyone in the last topic came anywhere close to that.

Letting it ride is what has got us where we are.
We have a forum where most people are afraid to post on a topic because they know they will get the piss pulled out of them.
I have had hundreds of PM's from these people for this very reason, asking me questions that they should of just put up as a topic but didn't want to because of the piss taking. I don't mind a bit of piss taking and can take it as well as give it but I guess most people coming into the sport find it hard.
I set this forum up so people would have a place to go if they wanted to get into carp fishing and wanted to know about it, not for people to take the piss. Yes it is my fault that the forum has gone the way it has but there is nothing I can do about it now unless I start kicking people.
I actually have been asking my self why the hell I pay 150/200 euro every year so that people can take the piss/slag the forum and still manage to post funk all.
We get about 15,000 people visiting this forum every month, now take a look at the posts we get out of 15,000 hits ???
I'm really beginning to think what is the point........

Well Ill be the first to hold my hand up and say I had a huge part in all that , and While Im here I will publicly apologise to flanders , I took it up all wrong flanders and was out of line completly when Im wrong Im wrong as on this occasion . I clean forgot thats how cork lads talk ( as explained by tom natas ) and thought you were being offensive , trully I am sorry and hope we can still exchange views in the future , If you decide against that then thats my fault and problem once again my apologies .

Tom, I think a lot of the lads got pissed off not being able to vent the odd time without the hand coming down, threatening behaviour excluded.
This is and can be a great resource for both novice and experienced Angler in terms of info, ideas and opinions.

As far as I see it these points may help.

Do a CFI t-shirt on to which you add on a few quid to cover the site costs, nobody would begrudge you that.
Open up the Fish of the year to the categories - thus involving more individuals/specialists
Start an advanced members section.
Zero tolerance on Any threatening behaviour.

Not telling you how to run your site, just a few thoughts I am not alone in thinking.

What I think is GG that i pissed a lot of lads off by venting especially when I was completley wrong , I gues venting is okay when we vent about the topic being discussed and not allow hijackings to take over to open up the can of worms , thats that on that and I for one will keep that in mind out of respect for other site users and members . I do like the idea of the t shirt thing myself I dont think it would hurt any at all it has my vote !
