| Yeah.. but not sure wher to get them certified yet, (Taken from Isfc Site)
"Weighing scale certification 2012
Anglers will be advised of new arrangements for having personal weighing scales certified in 2012. After 15 years of providing a high quality service the Legal Metrology Service (LMS) of NSAI has advised that it will not be able to support this certification process in the future. On behalf of anglers Trevor Champ, ISFC Chairman thanked the management and staff of LMS for their efficiency and interest in this work. He added “having such a reputable state body supporting the certification was central to the continuation of the quality of the ISFC work”. The details for calibration and certification of scales in 2012 are being finalised by ISFC and anglers will be advised of the new arrangements via the ISFC website."
Guess we'll have to wait and see?

| far better system in england ,theyll check your scales after a capture i think (for national record contenders) and add minus whatever its out ,personally ive had certified scales that i know where no where near accurate ,a good set of reubens will be as accurate as you can get allowing for human error while weighing,i wouldnt bother certifing a scales again id take most lads on there word with a picture sure they could have certified scales and just lie or weigh a fish wrong | |

| i couldnt agree more
certification if your ego demands it but i would go with something that was just well callibrated and something the weighs the fish properly ie in 28gm ounces as opposed to alot of the digital scales which weigh in 25gm increments . Reuben Heatons are a bit on the expensive side but they are pretty tough and easy to use with great aftersales should you dammage them . even if you buy an old battered set with a scratched face you can have them recallibrated and the glass replaced for under £20 , making them just as good as new . I have a bright orange set of saltwater proof ones , they look blood awful but are very easy to find when your running around half winged in the middle of the night

| i like my fox digital scales think there a very nice scale. Not sure if there as accurate as the heatons, but there very compact and light up at night when weighing fish which is handy. | |

| i dont like battery opperated scales as i never catch anything and they would lie in the bag from one season to the next , the batts would go flat and the one time i would need them they wouldnt work | |

| I've at of fox scales which broke very easily on me. Can't say I rate it that much and I will be switching to a dial for the new season. Any suggestions on a dial scales that aren't reubens ? Cheaper alternatives | |

| err no , i think reuben heaton do them for other companys aswell and rem you dont need to buy the speci hunters the cheaper single rev scales which measure in 2oz increments are fine and cost considerably less | |
