| Just returned from a week in blavet,Six of us set off for the ferrie on the Friday. After a good crossing to Roscoff,we had a short drive of two hours to the lake, where we were awaited by Gordon and Berny the owners who looked after us for the week. after a cup of coffee we did a circuit of the lake.I have to say first off the photos of the lake don't do it justice. Its a stunning looking lake, with both open water and snags. Plenty of margin fishing, over hanging trees nooks and crannies where wily carp love to hang around. There are 14 swims well thought out, though eight anglers would be the optimum number to stay comfy. There are a couple of gazebo's dotted on each side, with a bench and table setup.very handy for sitting for coffee's or a few beers. Also your not confined to the bivvy if it rains. We opted for the food pack at 100 euro for the week.In all honesty its great value, and would recommend it.The food is unbeatable, both Gordon and berny are well able to cook to a very good standard. Each evening meal is accompanied by a few beers, that Gordon keeps in his well stocked fridge. In fact throughout the week both Gordon and berny couldn't do enough for us,at every turn. Although we could've had brekkie at the lodge most of us sat on the rods and had rolls delivered to the swim in the mornings. The craic was emence every day,the fishing is very good, with carp from 20 to 50+,...grass's,Koy,and even a few zander, roam this water. You will not find another lake where your so well looked after, gordon and berny are very aware of the fact that you are first and foremost on holiday, and are out to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Ive never seen a place so clean and well kept,i never saw one unwanted visitor, day or night. So onto the fish....carp.2-3 pb's were broken, including a 53lb fish to paul creedon whos been waiting a few years for it.willie also had a new pb of 49.6 and went round with a cheshire cat grin for a least two days. I was settled into birches and had a 20 a 34 and a 40.richard accounted for a few 30's.Numerous other fish came out giving us not a bad total for what was a hard weeks fishing. All in all a great weeks holiday, and a place I wouldn't mind visiting again.....and again.Highly recommendable to both seasoned carpers or those looking for there first French venue. My thanks to Gordon and Berny for there hospitality and advice.congrats to the pb boys.Im gonna miss it.......

Its not an easy water Mike by any means, but quality of lake and hosts make it one of the best fishing holiday destinations! | |

| Though this is a crackin lake, most of the action will be up the far end in swims 1-2-3.Point-and the double Stump. If your lucky to get in there, and the fish are already there.Dont bomb the place with a lot of bait.Theres no need,,they wont move.Go for little and often.Bottom baits .Stay clear of the swim left of birches, theres a boulder under the water that's a ball breaker.Other swims need to be fished to the markers 2-3 rod lengths, either side.Midways always worth a rod and don't forget the margins. get the foodpack its fantastic. The lads running the place will look after you from start to finish and you will not fail to have a brilliant week. its deffo on my list to go back to.gordon will tell you all you need to know, and berny is a laugh a minute. | |

| Just an add on..if you get a day where you fancy a change for a couple of hours theres a lovely pond complex on site, with small carp, koi, tench, and all sorts, make sure you ask before you fish it.Its great fun on light gear float fished with soft pellet. | |

| Hi All, sorry for not being about for a while. There have been so many changes here, where do we start ???? There are now 3 large wooden gazebos around the lake, so if its raining you can still gather for a social, no need to be confined to your bivvy. We have also put in a new below ground heated swimming pool, 10 x 5 metres with a massive decked area. Just now being finished is a 4 x 8 metre pool house, social area with pool table, dart board etc. Please have a look at our new facebook page BLAVET VALLEY LAKES and you can keep up to date with all the news and ask any questions on there, we have nearly 300 members who are on hand to offer any advice as well. All the very best to you all Berny and Gordon | |
