| glen...we`ve changed bait company at the minute so none of the oyster and cranberry or the red indian has gone in.
kruger. the main spawning seems to be stopped now and the fish are on a go slow, not much coming out this week so far.

| for week ending the 23th of april we had 87 fish this week for 1819lbs of fish average weight was 24.2lbs 22 x doubles 31 x 20`s 17 x 30`s and 3 x 40`s
the first week, kieran was over in swim 8 and landed 10 fish best 34lbs and a 38.6lbs. the 38lbs mirror was i fish i did not know so it`s been named floppy tail. i can only find two photos of this fish on our PC once a few weeks ago at 36lbs and the other was when Richard P had it last year around spawning time at 36lbs. Peter in swim 9 had 4 fish for the week 31lbs the biggest. Jarno and Arjan in swim 11 banked 29 fish best 33lbs 34lbs 35.8lbs 35,12lbs 36lbs and franks common at 42lbs. frank and mate in swim 10 had a good week with 22 fish. best 30.6lbs 33lbs 35.4lbs 36lbs 38.8lbs 39.14lbs 39.14lbs 47.6lbs and a 47.10lbs. i had 9 fish to 33lbs
the following week we had strangely the same amount as the week before 87 fish for 2045lbs, 18 x doubles 29 x 20`s 21 x 30`s and 8 x 40`s. chalet fished a bit slow this week with only 4 fish been caught the best where 35lbs and a 36lbs. most of the fish where up at the shallow end of the lake more interested in making babies. i was on swim 10 for the week and only had 5 fish to 31.2lbs. Peter in his second week had 4 fish a 26lbs 31lbs 41lbs and a 45lbs. three friends Patrick Jocha and Mario did well on swim`s 7 and 8, Mario had 20 fish from swim 8 best 32.10lbs 33lbs 33.8lbs 36lbs 35.4lbs and a 40.12lbs, Patrick and Jocha on swim 7 had 16 fish best 31.4lbs 34lbs 35lbs 38.10lbs 38.10lbs 41lbs 42lbs and a 45lbs. (forked barbel) Dustin and Michael also did very well in swim 11. Michael had 9 fish best a 31lbs and a 43.12lbs franks common. Dustin had 24 fish which included a new lake record mirror, starburst at 48.15lbs. the other best fish where 33lbs 33.4lbs 33.8lbs 35.12lbs 36.4lbs 36lbs com 37.14lbs 42.8lbs 43.12lbs (big common) and 48.15lbs. this was Dustin`s first week in France so he went home quite happy. the 36lbs common has been missing for two years, the last time i seen it it was 22.8lbs. it was also one of the 5 fish we got from franks lake so hopefully it keeps going at this rate.
i`ll post photos later | |

| Hi lads.Got back this afternoon, from Brigueuil. The crossing over was smooth, and we arrived around 1am after a small divertion into the countryside. We decided to spend the rest of the night in the van.Saturday morning,we had coffee up at the house with Andy and Tracey.Dan was saying that 9-10 were not fishing well at all and that 11 was open,so we decide to give it a go for the weekend.Had a few fish out,and thought we'de move down to 10 on monday. It turned really hot during the days, and it really did slow things down for the week.Lots of fish moving about but not getting there heads down at all on the bait. Two dutch lads were catching well over on 6-7 using Cell. Dan moved about all week,as different people were arriving some unanounced, some booked.Dan took the odd fish over the other side from swim 1-3.By midweek there was still no let up at all from the sun,and chased us from the swim as far back as the path,as we searched for shade.Monday night i got a screaming run, unfortunatly it wasnt the rods but me making a B-line for the jacks,as i got a right dose of delli belly. But was back on form after a visit to the pharmacy the following day.By midweek we had a few under our belts, but the bigger guys just kept eluding us.No matter what we tried. As the crayfish were giving us a woefull time vwith the Madine,we swiched baits to Mainline bloodworm, and had a couple more fish on that. Then the swim just went stone cold dead.Full stop. From thursday morning to saturday morning my rods didnt beep once.Paul caught a couple more fish in the twenty bracket,Then got a run from far out left of the left side of the swim,by the way it was moving i could tell this was the one we'de been waiting for.As it shot acrooss the swim left to right the speed of the fish was unbelievable. In no time at all it was nearing pauls centre rod,and i had to drop both of his other rods.Paul was putting every bit of side strain on the rod to try and turn the fish, which at this stage was getting dangerously close to my own rods.So i dropped my left rod as the fish was coming in straight at last.I got to the net,and could see the flank of the carp and recognised it as a very light coloured mirror, well in excess of 35+.She was only 5ft from the net,as i saw the lead ping past pauls head.As i stood and watched this fabulous creature turn in the water and roll away,my only thought was for the loss of pauls PB One that hes been waiting for so long to break. We just sat and had a beer totaly pissed at the outcome. For the rest of our stay it was a dead swim, and thats just how it goes.We both agree we had a great holiday.Food was great as usual. And many thanks to Dan for his patience and advise(and the drive to the chemist). And of course to Andy and Tracey. My catch for the week; All mirrors;in pounds....24; 20; 8; 34.8; 29; 21.4; 23; 16. paul will fill you in on his list.Lastly the boat back was very bad with huge waves al the way back to rosslare. | |

| Thanks to Tracey, Andy and Dan for their hospitality over the week. It was hard going as days were so hot over there and had us moving looking for the shade every day. I had seven fish to 25.5lb which is up 1lb on my pb. Missed a carp on Friday night which would have smashed my pb and had 2 other runs which I lost but crap happens (it did to Mick). Overall we had a great holiday and 15 fish between us isnt too bad I suppose, again thanks to Dan for making every effort to help us catch. Mick will post photos as soon as he gets them downloaded. | |

| Cheers Mike and Paul. the heat this year has been slowing the fishing down alright. everything is a month early this year and it`s been hot since march. there is already a hose pipe ban here and the river`s are so low that i`ve even heard of parts of the river lot been closed to fishing. the river veinne is so low that one of the nuclear station is struggling to get water to cool the reactors and there having to let water out of the big reservoirs up stream to keep the levels up. anyway spawning has come early this year which has made may a bad moth to fish , normally it`s the best month of the year. the upshot is that we`ll get a months extra growth on the fish this year.
anyway the catch reports look like this for the last 3 weeks. the biggest fish out been cut tail spawned out 45lbs
anglers runs landed 10`s 20`s 30`s 40`s total weight in lbs 07-May 10 50 46 16 22 5 2 909.00 14-May 14 64 51 30 16 5 1174.80 21-May 8 80 60 23 29 7 1 1309.90

| been a bit lazy over the past while , well that and anglers not giving me photos or catch reports, anyway i`ll try and catch up with things. June and July so far have been up and down. mainly due to extreme heat or rain. brigueuil is officially the driest town is France ,it was on the main French news last week. luckily i`ve kept water back since march and our level is normal. although it`s been pissing down the last two days and the water is rising now. anyway below are some of the fish caught in the last while. Ed with connect 4 at 41LBS Frank with starburst at 45lbs Ed again with the big common at 42lbs Mad auld Piet with the drunk Jon with franks common at 41.4lbs after a 6 week missing period. not normal for her. Stefan with connect 4 at 42lbs again with pale face at 45lbs and again with starburst at 49.8lbs head shot of starburst. franks mirror at 30.14lbs although not a massive fish one i`m quite happy with this one. liamo and davey should remember this fish as they where there when it went in last year in April at 22.8lbs. this fish was caught last week so i`m sure it was bigger earlier in the year. i`ve high hopes for this one there was also some nice fish out last week i`ll get around posting a report during the week. | |
