i was talking 2 Bernie tonite she has been unable to post because she has had problems with the web link(probs on the french side).....

The Blavet web site has been updated and i must say that its looking great.....

Blavet are now doing discounts for brittany ferry's from cork and all details are on their web site......

2 weeks to go time 2 get the bags packed .........

Any news from Blavet? Anyone know how its fishing?

Rose has been posting up to date reports regularly on another thread.

Thanks to all for a great week and special thanks to the number 1 turnip aka Gordon, Berny and Ross it was excellent again. And all I can say if you are looking for a week in fishing you can’t go wrong with Blavet valley.
Also I would like to say a BIG thanks to jo and jenny for looking after me all week it was better then your mum looking after you.

Wow, what a week we’ve just had at Blavet. As usual the hospitality from Gordon, Berny & Ross was excellent but the fishing was out of this world. The Urban Legend has already given you a brief insight of how the week went but it was a 114 fish in total, 106 of which were carp and this is the lake record for the total number of carp out in one week.
Between the four of us, off our side of the bank we caught 71 fish, one of which was a Cat and the one and only sturgeon was caught by Ralph six times. So the carp haul was 64.

Thanks to everyone for a brilliant week, even Jenny & Jo (wives) enjoyed it. They stayed in the caravan near the lodge but managed to be around the lake to capture the catches on camera, which I’ll post shortly.

Just got back from Blavet Lakes this morning had the best trip ever we've been fishing the lake for about five years now and I've never seen anything like it before Tony is going to do a full catch report with photos hopefully but a quick run down 106 carp on the bank a new lake record and 2 cats and finally the sturgeon. The 3 Tractor boys who fished for the first time all had PB's and also got very excited when a Tractor whent past the lake,Tony had the new lake record at 55:14 a awsome fish and cockney steve aka many chins had a new PB at 45:15 good angling mate as always Gorden,Bernie and Ross could not do enough for us the food and the banter was as always fantastic. I would also like to thank Ralf aka the Sturgeonater for keeping the fish in his swim he caught it 6 times and lost it twice now that must be a lake record thats all for now i will let Tony do the rest.If your looking for a French venue give Blavet a try you won't be disappointed.

well i did last week in blavet wit pat, george, an conor....the fishing was hard going at times because the fish were spawning....i had a great time all the same....gordon,bernie an ross really do know the lake inside out an anyone dat are going there shud take all the advice they are giving....the food was great an more than a few pound were put on after the week....
at this stage i wud like 2 thank gordon,bernie an ross 4 all there help an hospitalty an i will defo be back next year.....

sturgeon 23lb.5oz PB.
now u will think i wasnt blessed wit the big carp but here is the cream of the crop for me which came on last knockings....
mirror 35lb.8oz...which is my new french PB.....

my old mucker pat had just the 2 fish but what he caught defo made up 4 the lack of fish....

Could any of the lads that were in Blavet valley last week fill me in on a few things? Im heading there with Toyo, Carp/tench man and a few others in august. Just what to know what most of the lake bed is like (weedy, clay or silty?) And what kind of hook link material would you reccomend(Mono,florocarbon or a certain colour coated braid?

ive another question.
