| Very disappointing video, but its true, what you can't see goes out of mind. Unfortunately, people can't see the rubbish around our Lakes and River Banks either. MarkG | |

| Class footage. Really clear too. Just goes to show those Korda dvd's that were €30 a shot weren't that hard to make. Shame about the shite on the lake bed. Some of our local lakes are wrecked with rubbish on the bank so I cant bear to imagine what lies under the water. Fckn Scum..!!!! | |

| I would love to dive down at that lake where that battle took place Matt , not to be morbid or anything just that sort of stuff intriuges me (historically) I have to admit I hate crayfish though , shame about those tyres too by the looks of it , it wasnt just a one off . |

| Cant see the tyres killing em in australia quite a few years back they used to chain tyres together and dump them in the sea to make reefs and i have seen pics of the coral growing on the tyres and creating new habitats etc although that was controlled and no idea whether they were of a type or that they were treated in some way .Amazing footage though bet the fluff chuckers will try to blame it on someone else.Double diamond doent work wonders afterall | |

| i dont think the tyres were dumped. people put them under boats to protect the bottom of the boats and they get moved out into deeper water by winter wave action. i would like to see a film in a area where boats are not kept, i dont think it would be that bad. as for beer cans and other crap sadly its to be found on all rivers and lakes and those pigs who litter are disgusting savages, often i have had to bag other peoples litter and take it to a bin. i cant understand it really because if you bring cans with you full is it not easier to take them home when they are empty???????? | |

| That guy was diving off the bog shore where traditionly boats are kept and as 434 said the tyres are for moring boats, but the diver is right in saying the reduction in crayfish numbers is down to increased polution. Lough Owel is a primary source of water for Mullingar town and the Royal Canal and the reduction of crays should be taken seriously. | |

| Could be crayfish plague wiped out crayfish in afew areas, was discovered in 1987 in the Boyne and a number of other calcareous lakes like Lough Lene and White Lake got hit aswell. | |
