Fishguard Lake

I had a spare day on my return home last week so did an over night at a lake 2 miles outside Fishguard. Very handy for the ferry and a nice 3 lake spread run by a couple from the midlands. Fish to the mid twenties including ghosties mirror common and koi, one of the lakes very weedy and an average depth of 4 feet. They have a static caravan they rent out for 200 a week and a tourer which they park beside the main lake for 30 a night. Neither are real fish people who had never been near a rod till 18 months ago, but they are enthusiastic and hospitable. Theres a pub around 10 mins walk up the road and the site is quite secure with the owners living on site by the lake. They have a small basic tackle shop and also do home made snacks bacon buttys etc. Worth a go if you need somewhere near the ferry and handy for a short trip over as well
