| Well done keith well worth the effort plus a thirty from there is a right result as average is upper double or low twenty. went myself in the summer on one of the guided day trips and had a 21 in the summer and if my girlfriend and i go out there again this summer i will definitely go again. Ray i went with canarycarpcrew but you could also go your own way but the drive is not the easiest and you might get stung on weight when bringing gear over. If you google chira and ron woodward you should get some good info about a fella that used to do his own trips out there. I reckon chira is one of the most under rated venues and receives very little pressure | |

| Nah back home in fckn work!! I fished it the second last day of my holliers I was gutted I left it so late as I woulda stayed there another 2 days at least - its an amazing place to fish... there's 40's and 50's in it all wild fish -there is no pressure on it at all!! I was wondering how the fish could grow so big without a lot of bait going in - they must be gorging themselves on them small bass!!
Rooster here's the link http://www.costadelcarping.com/ - as you can see from my the pics its a simple lead clip system - 30lb mainline to a 40lb shock leader you might think thats overkill but there is huge amount of big rocks on the lake bed - Where I was fishing it was down around 30 or 40 foot!! The fish came out on solar top banana and my favoured snowman nailed the 30!! Brought a few bollies and pop ups of my own to try as well but he just about covers everything - it's €380 for the week all in food and a few beers thrown in for good measure - Id say you would clean up if you done 5 days to a week on it!! well worth a ' winter ' session. | |

| Record for chira i think is 52pounds it was in carpworld couple months ago. I was also told there is another lake in gran canaria that holds some bigger carp but it is supposed to be a much tougher water | |

| had a few days off from work last week and managed to get a late deal out to gran canaria for 5 days. i fished 4 day only sessions with keith gladden who owns canary carp crew. fishing was great had 2 doubles 7 twenties and 2 thirties, biggest 34.5. have never put any pictures up on site as i dont know how as im rubbish with computers but will try get someone to put up a couple of pictures as some of the fish r real lookers. keith also does trips where u can rent gear off him and stay in a apartment on lake or even bivvy up so any1 interested check out his website and he will sort you a trip to your requirements. weather is great at the minute between 22 and 25 degrees during the day. perfect winter venue when weather is rubbish at home | |
